last saturday i had the privilege to witness the Maze Teen Model Search in front row seat. thanks to one of CFB's finest Eden Villarba of Chic In The Tropics and Maze Hipzone for the invite! the event started out with VIP cocktails and me and some of my CFB loves couldn't help but camwhore the entire time (photos to be posted in another post). it's true what Katt of One Frozen Margarita said in her recent post: "we bloggers dont talk. we just take photos of everything." True that, true that!

as any model search/pageant would start, the contestants briefly introduced themselves wearing their I Love Maze statement shirts. like Gillian of By Details, i quite enjoyed the segment when the girls sashayed down the runway wearing quirky prints! now i am even more inspired to try the print on print trend! yes, the conventional dresser that is me still hasn't ventured into that arena yet haha!

ayaw naman magpatalo ang boys! Plaids, anyone?

 Khaki and Denim overload!

I gotta hand it to one of Cebu's budding fashion designer/stylist, Yves of Yves Identify for the fresh, hip and fun styling!

the amazing Eden and the equally talented Mark! superb hosting skills!
Don't you all just love Eden's gown? i love, love, looove the flattering cut and color! Of course, she's wearing Yves Identify!

My favorite part? the girls wearing their evening gowns and Shandar shoes!

THE WINNERS!

this is one affair i'd truly regret not attending had i missed it!
Congratulations to the whole Maze team for a successful event!
and congratulations to the new faces of Maze-Ayala Cebu too!

so to all my Cebuana (and cebuano) readers, for your one-stop, up to date and budget-friendly fashion fix, be sure to drop by Maze Hipzone at the Ayala Center Cebu! :))

I came across this poem a couple of years ago in Speech class and it stuck on me like heavy duty glue ever since. No other form of writing has captivated me more than this and I looove the memories that came along with it.
That night, while I felt the sand on my feet and stargazed til my eyes (more like heart) ached, I played the lines in my head and realized that I too, can be as strong as her and have the courage to walk away from it all.
Hmm.. i wonder where all this drama is coming from. lol.
Read on.

AFTER A WHILE

Veronica A. Shoffstall

After a while
you learn
the subtle difference between holding a hand and chaining a soul
and you learn that love doesn't mean leaning
and company doesn't always mean security.
And you begin to learn that kisses aren't contracts and presents aren't promises
and you begin to accept your defeats with your head up and your eyes ahead
with the grace of woman, not the grief of a child

And you learn
to build all your roads on today
because tomorrow's ground is too uncertain for plans
and futures have a way of falling down in mid-flight.

After a while you learn
that even sunshine burns
if you get too much
so you plant your own garden and decorate your own soul
instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers.

And you learn that you really can endure

you really are strong
you really do have worth

and you learn

and you learn
with every goodbye, you learn...
