PCSA or Philippine School of Culinary Arts held their annual Open House party last March 4, 2016 at their Cebu branch located at the 3rd floor of The Maxwell Hotel. Family members of the students and media guests were greeted with a wide array of exclusive gastronomic delights carefully and diligently prepared by the students themselves.

From cookies, to truffles, to pretty cakes and even healthy nibbles, we were all too preoccupied from taking way too many pictures to even bother messing up the set-up to eat. The display was that good, true swear.

Giving my old pieces a fresh spin by wearing this side-slit dress and skinny jeans together while channeling my inner Emma Watson.  This dress-pants hybrid was one of last year's biggest trend and this year, it is not going anywhere. Dubbed again as another hitmaker this Summer, this dress over pants combo is nothing short of très chic.

This may be a man-repelling look and it goes without saying that this, too, is a bit intimidating but the key to pulling this off is to find balance and structure. If you're feeling experimental but aren't really sure how to make this look work, don't burn yourself out, just grab pieces that are of the same aesthetic or color and you are good to go.

If you are meaning to look a bit crisp and polished, go for a button-down dress and skinny jeans or opt for a more updated look by pairing it with cropped trousers and heels. But if you prefer things slouchy, experiment with volume in a sundress and wide legged pants or flares. If you are still not convinced, try a much safer approach by playing it safe with colors. Stick to neutral hues and colors that work well for you (white is super safe!) or you can go all white, all black and just add a statement piece like a printed purse or shoes. Don't worry, this ensemble is meant to look offbeat so just embrace the layers!

No matter how you want to wear this trend, this ultra current silhouette is sure to make your old pieces feel and look fresh.

Happy experimenting!
