If there is one beauty product that I do not leave the house without, it is a good set of matte lipsticks. I say set because I usually carry 2-3 shades in my makeup bag just in case I need a different mood-changer. Weird how that sounds but I bet most of you can totally relate. Who doesn't turn to lipstick when one needs to feel a little better, right? Nothing like a pick-me-up that doesn't make you feel bad and sad and groggy when the high dies down. Liquor does that while lipsticks give you the happies without the crazy hangover-- I'd take the latter any day!
A lot of beauty junkies say that it's not hoarding if it's makeup and that holds true for my lipstick collection. I do not have a drawer full of these little bad boys but I have a handful of (matte) nudes and just recently, (matte) browns. I am a nudist on my lips but brights make for a good addition in my lipstick arsenal.
So what's a girl to do when she receives (5) tubes of the all-new popping shades from Color Sensational's Vivid Matte Lipstick Collection by Maybelline New York? She holds a lipstick party, of course!
Maybelline New York recently launched their newest colors of matte lipsticks and this time, they come in vivid red, pink and plum shades-- much to the delight of every bold-lipstick-loving beauty junkie.
Maybelline's Vivid Matte lipsticks have creamy textures, they glide smoothly on the lips, doesn't tug and doesn't give you that heavy, sticky feeling. Some matte lipsticks leave your lips feeling dry at the end of the day but the Vivid mattes don't and they even leave a pretty stain once you wipe them off-- giving the impression that you're wearing a lip tint (which I really, really like!)
I am not very picky with my lipstick's packaging but given that each tube costs P299, i say it's a very decent price for a very good and well-loved lipstick brand.
Maybelline's Vivid Matte Lipstick Collection gives you incredible color payoff with just one swipe and has great lasting power. It survived a hearty Japanese dinner (california maki!!) as well as a grande-sized coffee with minimal retouch. I noticed though that it bled a little-- but that is something a lip liner can definitely handle.
Like my other Maybelline lipsticks from their Creamy Brown Nudes collection (I have Touch of Spice and Nude Nuance), I am totally smitten! Not only are they affordable, they are also non-drying and matte(!!)-- qualities of lipsticks that top the list of why they should be in my beauty arsenal.
