Get Fitted Professionally for Your Health's Sake

Bra Fitting-- It's a topic that I always try to avoid whenever I go shopping because I find it too private to be discussed with some stranger inside a busy establishment. When shopping for bras and underwear, silly ol' me would just be in and out of a brand's display booth faster than Usain Bolt.

I gotta admit, and I think that a lot of you can relate, guessing my bra size was a whole lot easier than talking to the sales associate. This was something I practiced for years until I experienced chest tightness which I initially thought was a serious problem.

That liberating feeling when you take off your bra at the end of a very long day.

Apparently, it was just a serious case of an ill-fitting bra.

Ill-fitting bras give you a lot of discomfort-- shoulder pain, neck pain, back pain and even heartburn. Wearing the wrong bra size gives you a uniboob (that's one wide boob) or double boobs (two small ones that grow out of your main ones.) Ill-fitting bras give you back fat or back bulges and even armpit bulge and more often than not, they cause skin irritation and even headaches. With just one look, one can tell that someone is wearing an ill-fitting bra. Back straps that hike up all the way to your shoulder blades? Definitely a NO NO.

I never really considered getting myself professionally fitted because, really, how can determining your own bra size be so difficult? It's your own body, you should know what works for you and what doesn't, right?

Apparently, bra size change from time to time and when I could no longer breastfeed Vania because of low milk supply and my girls dramatically sized down, I mustered all the guts to have myself professionally fitted.
