She Matters

Two weeks ago, the Cebu Fashion Bloggers were invited to a forum that tackles Cervical Cancer Awareness. it is not the usual gathering we often go to but that was one for the books.

She Matters, a non-profit organization that is committed to raise awareness among men and women about cervical cancer and to promote self-care to all women at risk, hosted the event. the group is Cebu-based and has reached out to a number of organizations conducting one-hour forums and discussing means and ways on how to prevent cervical cancer.

Ms. Emee Aquino, founder of the said organization, emphasized the importance of prevention and one sure way of doing so is by seeing an OB-GYN regularly. it is sad to know that a lot of lives are taken every year because of this disease when this is in fact, preventable. having regular check-ups and investing in your health by getting that HPV vaccine definitely lowers your risk of getting cervical cancer.

i wasnt really sure what color Cervical Cancer Awareness decided claim on the color wheel so i decided to wear something pink and turquoise. i love how at the last minute this soft blazer looked decent enough for me to wear with just one gold leaf pin to secure it with. yes, should anybody decide to snatch that pin away, i'd be half-naked in a matter of seconds. haha!
