Family Project Number 2 on the move and dad wanted lola to see the site so she came in early to witness the mini groundbreaking ceremony. She was so hyped up cos for what she knew, Number 2 was first scheduled November of this year. But the family decided against, said it was best to have it ready before the year ends. And so, consider today as Day 1.

It was freakin' hot this morning! I love Summer but I'm not so sure about the heat when I'm not frolicking in the sand in some far away secluded beach. geez! I would have died of dehydration out there!

So after a few talks here and there, mom and I took lola out to lunch (like what we also do every time she spends a day with us). I was craving for a tonkatsu bento, and so was mom, so i suggested that we go to Nonki but lola wanted crispy chicken and since McDonald's was just a 10-minute ride away, we headed there.

I was near to having a nosebleed because of the heat until I saw rainclouds over the horizon. Boy was I relieved! Nothing beats the summer heat than a taste of pitter patter! Rain shower heading in our direction! OHH sweet joy! Just what I needed! ^_^

xoxo to my brother Joey for my pictures.

Mom's birthday is never hard to forget since it falls on Labor Day.
I was busy the whole day answering calls from friends and relatives who wanted to greet her a heypee burpday!
Boy, did my ears ached! LOL.
That was an exaggeration, of course.

So anyhoo, we decided to have a quiet little family dinner at Cafe Uno - Waterfront Lahug (the family's 2nd favorite restaurant)
And since we came up with this decision during dinnertime the day b
efore while experiencing a power outage,
mom decided to invite my lolo Ben's brother, lolo Memong and his wife, lola Zeny.

Mommy with lolo and lola

You may ask then WHY she clearly wanted lolo Memong and lola Zeny to be her special guests?
While we were still living at my lola's house and we'd experience
a power cut for God knows how long, lolo Memong would come knocking at our door faster than I could finish singing the ABC.
Much to my delight, he'd bring us dozens of candles (and even a box of mat
ches at one point) coz he knew pretty well that my dad wasn't around.. He was at the hospital complying his duty hours as a senior resident and maybe lolo reckoned that it would be hard for my mom to buy extra candles at the store while she had 2 kids to look after. So lolo Memong would go out of his way and walk the dark 20-metres that separated our house from theirs to give us the candles. This went on for years until we moved out of our lola's place. Sweet, isn't he?

You may all find this simple but it sure meant a lot to me, my sister and my mum.
And so on her special day, mom wanted to make them feel special too by having them as her only guests.

xoxo to you both and much lovin' to my mom!
Happy Birthday!

This is what I wore to dinner.
Would have wanted to wear my new sky highs but since I was still getting used to driving the new baby and adjusting to the AT (I've been driving a M
T vehicle ever since I learned the basics), I decided to just ditch my new loves and go for my overused chainlink t-strap sandals instead. In fairness, they're much more comfy and easy when driving and besides, mom was already giving me the im-not-so-comfortable-with-your-footwear look. lol.
